    This document describes a 42MPa (6,000 PSI) high-pressure ball valve, specifically engineered for critical water injection and control services in demanding applications such as power generation (e.g., boiler feedwater), petrochemical, and high-pressure processing plants. The valve integrates a robust ball valve design with a single-acting pneumatic spring-return actuator, ensuring reliable operation and fail-safe functionality under extreme pressure conditions.

     

       Design and Pressure Integrity   

    The valve body, ball, and stem are manufactured from high-grade forged materials, typically ASTM A105 or A182 F316, to withstand the immense static and dynamic loads at 42MPa. The design incorporates a full-bore or reduced-bore configuration to minimize pressure drop and fluid turbulence. Critical components undergo advanced heat treatment and surface hardening processes to achieve superior mechanical strength and resistance to erosion and cavitation, which are common challenges in high-pressure water systems.

     

       Sealing System   

    A multi-stage sealing system guarantees zero leakage:

    • Primary Seal (Seat): Utilizes Utilizing a special structure and advanced sealing materials (such as metal hard seals: Gr.660+HF, Stem is Inconel 718)or Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) seats for excellent sealing and low-friction operation. For more severe services, metal-to-metal (e.g., Stellite) primary seals with soft secondary seals are available.
    • Stem Seal: Features a combination of self-compensating chevron packing rings and anti-blowout stem design, ensuring long-term, leak-tight integrity even under full-rated pressure.

     

       Actuation: Single-Acting Spring-Return   

    The valve is equipped with a single-acting (spring-return) pneumatic actuator, a critical feature for safety and automation.

    • Operation: Compressed air is supplied to the actuator to open or close the valve against a powerful spring.
    • Fail-Safe Action: Upon air supply failure or emergency shutdown, the stored energy in the spring automatically returns the valve to its predefined safe position (typically Fail-Close). This is essential for isolating system sections, preventing over-pressurization, or maintaining safe shutdown states.
    • Accessories: The actuator can be fitted with solenoid valves, limit switches, and positioners for seamless integration into Plant Control Systems (DCS/PLC), enabling remote operation and real-time status monitoring.
