  •    Description

Our Lined Dual Plate Wafer Check Valve is an engineered solution designed specifically for handling highly corrosive, abrasive, or chemically aggressive media in demanding industrial processes. This valve integrates the space-saving, efficient design of a standard dual plate check valve with a complete internal lining of inert fluoropolymer materials, such as PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) or PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy). This construction creates a robust barrier, protecting the metallic valve body from corrosive attack and ensuring the purity of the media being handled. It is the ideal choice for preventing reverse flow in critical chemical processing applications where standard metallic valves would fail.

       Working Principle

The operation is reliable and efficient:

    • Forward Flow: Media pressure pushes the two lightweight, composite plates open, allowing nearly unrestricted flow with a low pressure drop.
    • Flow Stopping & Sealing: As flow diminishes, the combination of spring force and reverse flow pressure swiftly closes the plates. The plates, often encapsulated or coated with a resilient material, seal tightly against the lined valve seat, ensuring a bubble-tight shut-off and preventing any backflow.
    • Isolation: The entire wetted interior—body, plates, and seat—is protected by the fluoropolymer lining, completely isolating the corrosive media from the carbon or stainless steel valve body.

       Key Design Features & Advantages

    • Exceptional Corrosion Resistance: The full PTFE or PFA lining offers outstanding resistance to a vast range of corrosive chemicals, acids, alkalis, and solvents, extending valve life in harsh environments.
    • Contamination-Free Flow: The inert lining prevents metallic contamination of the process media, making it suitable for ultra-pure applications in the pharmaceutical and food industries (subject to specific FDA-compliant materials).
    • Lightweight & Compact Wafer Design: Provides a cost-effective, space-saving installation between ANSI/ASME or DIN flanges without the need for special gaskets.
    • Rapid Closure Mechanism: Spring-assisted closing minimizes slamming and water hammer, protecting pumps and downstream piping from damage.
    • Excellent Sealing Performance: The combination of lined seats and resilient-sealed plates ensures bidirectional zero leakage, meeting stringent sealing standards.
    • Reduced Maintenance & TCO: The lining drastically reduces wear and corrosion, leading to significantly longer service intervals and a lower total cost of ownership compared to exotic alloy valves.
