Description
Our Dual Plate Check Valve is an advanced, highly efficient flow control solution designed to prevent reverse flow and protect critical system components in piping networks. Engineered for superior performance, it features two spring-assisted semi-circular plates (discs) hinged on a central pin. This compact, wafer-style/lug-style/flange-style design is engineered to fit securely between standard ANSI/ASME or DIN or GB/T flanges, making it an ideal choice for a vast range of applications where space, weight, and reliability are paramount.
Working Principle
The valve operates on a simple yet highly effective principle:
Forward Flow: When media flows in the desired direction, the pressure of the flow forces the two hinged plates to swing open, offering minimal flow resistance.
Flow Stopping: As forward flow velocity decreases or ceases, the built-in torsion springs assist in rapidly closing the plates.
Reverse Flow Prevention: If backflow pressure occurs, the pressure of the reverse media and the spring force ensure immediate and tight sealing against the seal ring, effectively preventing any reverse flow and protecting upstream equipment like pumps and compressors.
Key Design Features & Advantages
Compact & Lightweight Design: The wafer-style construction is significantly lighter and more compact than traditional swing or lift check valves, reducing structural support requirements and overall installation costs.
Rapid Closure & Water Hammer Mitigation: The spring-assisted closure ensures swift shutdown before flow reversal, dramatically reducing the risk of damaging water hammer phenomena.
Low Pressure Drop: The streamlined flow path and full-port design minimize turbulence and pressure loss, enhancing system efficiency and reducing operational energy costs.
Versatile Mounting Capability: Can be installed in horizontal or vertical pipelines (with flow direction upward), providing exceptional flexibility for various system layouts.
Robust Construction: Manufactured from high-quality materials (e.g., Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel 316, Duplex Steel) with resilient seat seals (e.g., EPDM, NBR, Viton) to ensure long service life and compatibility with a wide spectrum of media, including water, oil, gas, steam, and aggressive chemicals.
Maintenance-Free Operation: With no external actuators and minimal internal moving parts, these valves are designed for reliable, long-term operation with minimal maintenance needs.
